Stop Retyping Your Menu — Import It With AI Instead
Typing out a menu — every item, every description, every price, in every category — is the single most tedious part of setting up online ordering. You already have the menu. It's on your website, or a PDF, or a stack of photos from your last print run. StackedTables' menu import reads it directly and does the typing for you.
Two ways in: a link, or a photo
From the menu builder, open Import and choose either:
- Link — paste the URL of your existing menu page (or a direct PDF/image link), and StackedTables fetches and reads it
- Upload — attach up to 5 files (PDF or photos), up to 4 MB total — a photographed printed menu works fine
Either way, nothing is guessed from a generic template. The AI reads what's actually on the page or in the photo and extracts real categories, item names, descriptions, and prices.
You review every line before anything saves
Import never writes directly to your live menu. It returns a preview — categories and items, each with a checkbox — so you can:
- Uncheck anything that doesn't belong before it's ever created
- See flagged items called out separately when something trips the same content policy that governs manually-entered items (alcohol, cannabis, and similar categories StackedTables doesn't carry) — those come back marked, not silently dropped, so you know exactly what got excluded and why
- Confirm pricing and descriptions read the way you want before committing
Only when you hit confirm does anything get written — and even then, it adds to your existing menu rather than replacing it. Missing categories get created automatically; nothing you've already built gets touched.
What it costs
Every StackedTables account gets 3 free imports to start, plus 1 more every month after that — enough for most restaurants to get their whole menu in without ever paying for it. Need more in one sitting (a full re-launch, a seasonal overhaul)? A $5 pack adds 20 more imports to the account.
Why this is worth automating
A restaurant's menu isn't static — seasonal items rotate, prices change, a new location needs the same menu re-entered from scratch. Retyping all of that by hand, correctly, every time, is exactly the kind of busywork that keeps a menu stale for months after it should've been updated. Point the importer at whatever you already have, review what comes back, and get back to running the kitchen.
