What StackedTables Actually Costs: The 2% Commission, Explained
Restaurant software pricing is usually a maze of tiers, "contact sales," and per-terminal add-ons. StackedTables has one number: 2% of orders paid online, capped at $150 a month. This post is the fine print, spelled out, so there's nothing to discover later.
There's no plan to pick
Signing up doesn't require entering a card or choosing a tier. The menu builder, the floor plan, the kitchen display, the waiter screen, and staff roles are all there from the first login. Nothing on that list is gated behind a higher fee — the commission is the only thing StackedTables charges, period.
What the 2% applies to
The commission is charged only on orders your guests pay for online, through the menu. If a table orders through the QR code but settles at the counter or with cash, that order costs you nothing. Dine-in-only restaurants that never turn on online payment pay nothing at all, ever — StackedTables just runs as a QR menu with an order pad attached.
A $40 order paid online costs $0.80 in commission. A $200 catering order paid online costs $4.00. There's no per-order minimum anymore — it's a flat 2%, full stop.
The $150/month cap, in practice
Here's the part that actually matters at volume: once a restaurant's commission for a calendar month reaches $150, StackedTables stops taking it for the rest of that month. Keep running online orders and you simply don't pay a commission on them until the month resets.
To put a number on it: $150 is 2% of $7,500. A restaurant doing more than $7,500 in online orders in a month pays a lower effective rate on everything past that point — the cap only helps as volume grows, it never hurts.
What's separate: card processing
The 2% is StackedTables' commission, not an all-in number. Card processing is charged by Stripe on top of it, the same way it would be on any other platform — StackedTables doesn't mark that up or take a cut of it. Online payments settle straight into your own Stripe account on your own payout schedule; the commission is deducted at the moment of the sale, not invoiced later.
